D-Dog's BBQ Original Rub is the original rub that Darin Hearn developed because he loved BBQ and need something more than the grocery store rubs could offer! D-Dog's BBQ Original Rub is a great all purpose seasoning for anything you want to cook. It has a perfect balance of sweet and spice and can be used on any meat. We think that this rub has a tremendous flavor profile and should be a standard in any kitchen cabinet or backyard grill. We have tried this on chicken and pork chops and feel it has a unique ability to create a "glaze" on the outside of the meat because of the mix of sugars it contains. Darin Hearn, creator of D-Dogs's BBQ Rubs and sauces is an admitted BBQ addict. He has loved all things BBQ since being very young. Darin remembers being in elementary school and the teacher asking the students in the class what their favorite foods were. Each student said the usual kid foods, Mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, the standards. When the teacher got to me Darin he naturally said, BBQ ribs. The teacher was surprised and said that she liked them too.
Growing up, Darin ate at tons of BBQ joints and as he got older he started grilling but knew in his hear that he could take it to another level. That is when he began making slow smoked authentic BBQ in his backyard and started his quest to make the best BBQ possible. After trying many of the store bought rubs he decided the only way to make the worlds best BBQ was to make his own rubs. After many years of trial and error making rubs, he hit gold! Finding just the right blend of spices to make a rub so unique that it could make anything taste great! Darin started sharing his rub with friends and family and as legend spread, started getting asked by others if he would sell them some rub.
