Let us start by saying that we love Heads Red BBQ Sauce and think it is one of the best sweet sauces we have ever tasted. When I say sweet, it is sweet the way that BBQ Sauce is supposed to be sweet. It has a delicious flavor and was developed by Bill Mehilos when he got involved in BBQ competitions throughout the Midwest in 2002. Head’s Red BBQ is a locally made sauce in Chicagoland which just warms our heart that the Midwest and this sauce won the Grand Champions in Racine Wisconsin in 2006.

Bill Mehilos set out to create a sauce that was a bit unique from what other pitmasters were using. Heads Red BBQ Sauce is a 100% small batch homemade sauce Bill used for his home BBQ and after some trial and error in the kitchen he created Heads Red BBQ Sauce which is a wonderful combination of a slightly sweet yet tangy flavor that complements the meat without overpowering the flavor like most of the commercial stuff does.

Bill hand delivers our cases to us, and holds a special place for our family. Although Gretchen and I love BBQ, our kids do not like all the unique sauces that we carry. Well that changed when they tasted Heads Red BBQ Sauce, this is the 1st sauce that they absolutely love and I am now happy to say that my kids Hannah and Harry give it their seal of approval.
