Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers Ingredients:

  • 10 fresh jalapeños
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp Texas Tornado Seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp Sweet Swine o’ Mine Sweet Rub
  • 10 slices of thick-cut bacon, halved
  • Toothpicks (soaked in water if grilling)
  • Optional: chopped green onions or fresh cilantro for garnish

Let’s Get Poppin’ – Instructions:

Prep the Jalapeños:

  • Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise.
  • Use a spoon to carefully remove seeds and membranes (unless you're looking for the extra heat).

Mix the Filling:

  • In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and a sprinkle of Texas Tornado Seasoning.
  • This seasoning adds layers of garlic, pepper, and a vague herbal flavor, a touch of sweetness and a hint of black licorice, trust us.

Stuff & Wrap:

  • Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture.
  • Wrap a half-slice of bacon around each stuffed pepper and secure with a toothpick.

Season the Outside:

  • Lightly dust each popper with Texas Tornado Seasoning to caramelize that outer bacon wrap with a savory crust as it cooks.

Grill or Bake:

  • Grill: Place in grill next to indirect heat at 375°F for 25–30 minutes, or until bacon is crispy.
  • Oven: Bake at 400°F on a wire rack over a baking sheet for 20–25 minutes.

Serving Tips:

Serve hot off the grill with Weez's Chioptle Ranch or Sweet Sauce O'Mine Original BBQ sauce for dipping. Garnish with green onions or cilantro if you're feeling fancy.
