This has become my go to seasoning for steaks & chops. The coarse black pepper provides a nice bite to contrast the savory flavor of the other spices & salt. I have yet to find any of Melissa's products that aren't 5 stars, and I have been hooked ever since I traveled to Memphis and ate at Memphis BBQ Co. Customer for life.

Along with Chef Hans Cajun seasonings (meat, poultry, blackened fish), Melissa Cookston Grillin' Shake is a kitchen staple in my house. Best application: wash and pat dry skin-on chicken, put on a light dose of Chef Hans Poultry and a good shake of Melissa Cookston and roast at 385 for an hour. The skin crisps up and the pieces are dinner in Heaven. I have given Melissa Cookston to my neighbors and sons as well - always appreciated.
