The holidays are here and it is time to be thinking about what you will be cooking this holiday season and more importantly, what flavors will you be looking for? The BBQ Pro Shop Factory Team Flavor Guide can help you make those decisions, and here are some highlights for ideas as to what to cook, and how to season it.
Beef Tenderloin
Meathead’s Amazing Smoked Red Meat Seasoning and Dry Brine is a new beef seasoning that is unlike anything we have tasted, and that says a lot! Sprinkle this one on and let the hickory smoked sea salt do the work on a dry brine and help build that crust. The black and chili pepper in the mix provide a great kick. Click the link above for the Flavor Guide and every bottle of Meathead’s Amazing comes with a link to a free cookbook, so there is no end to what you can do!
Roasted Turkey
For years we have hosted Thanksgiving holidays at our home and ever since we started carrying Oakridge BBQ Game Changer Brine it has become our go to. We do an overnight brine in Game Changer, rinse of the bird the next morning and apply an even coating of Coastal Goods Turkey Time Seasoning to the bird. The house or in our case, the backyard grill smells terrific, and the turkey is always moist and delicious. You cannot go wrong with this combination.
Smoked BBQ Ribs
Most people have heard about Meat Church’s Matt Pittman’s who this year presented the world with his special pork rib recipe. Matt Pittman's Rib Kit combines three of his world famous Meat Church rubs, including Honey Hog Hot, Holy Gospel and Fajita rub and then he lays down the one two punch. Meat Mitch WHOMP! BBQ sauce which has been a staple in my competition recipe after a wrap in Texas Pepper Jelly Apple Cherry Habanero. This one is a killer combination and will wow your guests this holiday. Click here for the full kit and you can watch his video on the page!
Smoked Turkey
Some love it, some not so much, but a smoked turkey can be an excellent way to bring the flavor this holiday season. We would suggest a Cajun Creole flair, with the combination of an overnight bath for the bird in Malcom’s Bird Brine and a generous sprinkling of All Q’ued Up Bayou Bandit, the new creole flavor will be a big hit. Sweet, heat and smokey make for one delicious turkey.
Smoked Brisket
Everybody has their own recipe, and we are not huge believers in using beef injections unless you are looking for one bite competition BBQ, then, well it is a must. We suggest you keep is somewhat simple and go with a savory and sweet combination of rubs and using the BBQ Pro Shop Factory Team Flavor Guide is the best way to get your layers squared away. For something really special, try a Flavor Anonymous Moo’d Enhancer with a nice dose of Flavor Anonymous Double Down for that garlic butter flavor, when mixed with the smokey bark is tough to beat! Looking to really make it shine, apply some Cornhusker Beef Tallow in the Butcher Paper wrap and just get ready for some good eating!
